ELECTRONIC MUSIC Festival

real-time/non real-time ist der Name des Festivals mit Workshops zur Programmierumgebung Max und den Erweiterungen MSP und Jitter, Programme für interaktive Musik-, Klang- und Bildeinbindung in Multimedia, Installation und Komposition. Das Festival soll den Dialog zwischen den zwei Traditionen der Elektronischen Musik real-time (Instrumente+Elektronik) und non real-time (Tonbandmusik) widerspiegeln.

Auf dem Programm stehen Konzerte mit internationalen Gästen sowie Laptop-Musik und Improvisation. Die Workshops werden in den Räumen des Elektronischen Studios Basel durchgeführt. Kurssprache ist Englisch. Die Workshops richten sich an Fortgeschrittene.

Die Konzerte und Performances finden am Abend im Gare du Nord, Bahnhof für Neue Musik, statt.

real-time/non real-time: an international electronic music festival featuring Max, MSP and Jitter workshops (programming environments for interactive music, sound, an image in multimedia, instalations, and composition), concerts, and laptop music and improvisations. The festival aims to engage two traditions of electronic music in a dialogue: real-time (instruments and electronics) and non real-time (tape music).

The workshops will be offered in English by leading figures of the field at the Electronic Music Studios of the Musik-Akademie in Basel. They are intended for intermediate to advanced students.

The evening concerts and performances will take place in Gare du Nord, Bahnhof für Neue Musik.
